Sources about basso continuo often include information about other aspects of performance practice such as ornamentation, diminution or dynamics. I developed various courses based on these and other – more specialized – historical sources. They are intended for continuo players as well as for singers and players of melodic instruments, and for short workshops as well as for longer-term courses. Below, you will find course descriptions and videos. In the first video the students of my class about Historical Performance Practice for Singers (at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam) experiment with 17th-century ornamentation in French vocal chamber music of that period.
